Report Builder is “not” installed

If you are using SCCM 2012 with SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services you will run into a problem when you would like to create your own reports. The following Error Message will be displayed:

“Report Builder 2.0  is not installed as a click-once application on report server”

SQL 2008 R2 works with Report Builder 3.0. To solve this issue you have to change:

  • registry value
    HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ConfigMgr10\AdminUI\Reporting\ReportBuilderApplicationManifestName
from “ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application” to “ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application” on every computer where you use the SCCM Console and would like to start the Report Builder.
  • start the SCCM Console as Administrator
